La Puglia
La Puglia is a region in southern Italy. It is known for its rich history, beautiful landscapes, and unique cultural traditions. The clear water, great food, and unique towns makes it the best spot for a memorable vacation.
Where to Stay:
The region is big, so my recommendation is to rent a car either in Bari or in any large city and drive from town to town. Staying the night in different towns allows you to get to know the uniqueness of each one in more detail.

Towns
The region has many towns. Some largers, others with a very particular character, some on the coast, and some on the middle of the agriculture land. I would recommend getting to know all of the ones in the list below. Either staying there to sleep, or going for lunch/dinner.
Matera*
Alberobello
Polignano e mare*
Galipoli
Ostuni*
Santa Maria di Leuca
Otranto*
Lecce
Bari
Locorotondo
I used the (*) symbol to mark the towns where you should stay for the night.

Beaches
The coast of the region is very different as you drive south. The eastern coast is more rocky and has not a lof of sand for a comfortable setting. With this said there are less people everywhere and its more likely to find a quiet spot. The western coast has more long sandy beaches and its very popular for the color of the water. I would recommend seeing as much as possible. Getting on a boat on the most southern tip of Italy is also a must in Santa Maria di Leuca.
My favorites are:
West Coast:
Punta procciutto
Torre Castiglione
Porto Cesareo
East Coast:
Baia dei Turchi
La Due Sorelle
Torre sant Andrea
Torre dell Orso
San Foca
Two Sisters
Porto Cesareo
Two Sisters Beach
