Mallorca, Islas Baleares

This island is a one of my favorite places to visit with friends, family, a partner, or by yourself. The beautiful meditarranean climate makes it easy to always have good weather conditions to go for a hike during the winter months, or visit a cala in the summer months. I would recommend getting a car to move around the island as it is very easy to drive around and it takes 1 hour to go from one corner to the next. Find below some recommendations of where to stay, where to eat, and what calas to visit when in Mallorca.

Where to Stay:
The island is not too big so you could perfectly stay in one location or move around trying different spots. If you are going with a group of people (friend, family, etc) I would recommend renting a house or finca where you can use as a base and drive to the different calas or towns everyday. If you are a small group of people getting a hotel, or a couple of hotels is a great way to get to know the island.

Calas
I have experienced less crowded calas in the northern/eastern side of the island as many of them require some waking/ hiking to get to the right spot. On the Southern area parking on the beach is more common and the hikes are minimal, but this brings more poeople onto the same area.

Restaurants
I love the food in this island! The Majorcan Cuisine is a fusion of Mediterranean flavors, characterized by the use of fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Some ingredients that you would find in almost any dish are olive oil, seafood, pork, fresh vegetables, and almonds. The sobrasada, ensaimada, tumbet, and the frito mallorquin, are amongst the most notable dishes in the island.
